The Lugarno Dojo is renowned for its traditional teaching method and hard training ethos.

There is a strong emphasis on Kihon (basic techniques), kata (sequences of moves) and Kumite (sparring). The classes provide instruction suitable for beginners to advanced students of all ages.

Lugarno Dojo was established over 20 years ago and has always produced students of a high standard including many K.U.A State and National champions. While the training is often tough the instructors are friendly and the classes enjoyable.

  • Saturday 9:30am  - 11:30am



Stephen D’Alessandro (3rd Dan) is the most senior Instructor in the dojo and has been training for over 20 years. As both a state and national competitor his achievements include K.U.A State Kumite Champion (3 years)  and Kata Champion (2 years).


Michael Clay (3rd Dan) has been training for over 19 years. He is the current K.U.A National and NSW Kumite Champion and member of the winning State Kata team.



Ashley Tsacalos (3rd Dan) has been training for 19 years Achievements include K.U.A State Kumite Champion and Kata medalist.



Steve Heuschkel (3rd Dan) is a state and national medalist for both kata and Kumite including current K.U.A National Team Kata and Team Kumite Champion.
